Course Description:

Join Dr. Sanjukta Mohanta as she talks about how to manage the medically compromised client so you can provide safe, optimal dental hygiene care.

During this course, Dr. Mohanta identifies the most common medications prescribed, their indications for use, and the possible dental implications of these drugs. The most common medical conditions will be reviewed as well as what dental hygienists should be aware of and how to modify treatment.

Course Objectives:

By the end of the session, the attendee will be able to:

1) Manage the medically compromised client

2) Modify treatment to manage the medically compromised client

3) Identify when dental hygiene treatment is contraindicated

4) Understand when a medical consult is required

5) Prevent medical emergencies
