Private, In-Office Radiography Coaching for Your Dental Team

Strengthen your team’s radiographic skills through four hours of customized, hands-on coaching—delivered in the comfort of your own practice using the equipment, sensors and positioning systems your team works with every day.

Led by an experienced rdhu educator, this practical session will help your team identify the causes of common radiographic errors and develop techniques to improve image quality, efficiency and client comfort.

Your team will receive guidance and hands-on practice addressing:

Overlapping contacts
Cone cuts
Receptor and sensor placement
Elongation and foreshortening
Horizontal and vertical angulation
Anterior and posterior periapical images
Horizontal and vertical bitewings
Panoramic positioning
Full-mouth series efficiency
Common technique and positioning challenges

Special client considerations will also be explored, including maxillary and mandibular tori, high or narrow palates, edentulous clients, clients with periodontitis, periapical images during endodontic treatment, gag reflexes and working with children.

Because this coaching takes place in your practice, the session can be tailored to your team’s specific needs, challenges and radiography equipment.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this coaching session, participants will be able to:

Identify common radiographic errors and explain their causes.
Modify receptor and sensor placement to reduce errors and distortion.
Compare the advantages and limitations of the paralleling and bisecting-angle techniques.
Demonstrate appropriate horizontal and vertical PID angulation.
Apply effective placement techniques for anterior and posterior periapical images and horizontal and vertical bitewings.
Demonstrate appropriate client positioning for panoramic radiographs.
Visualize and align the primary X-ray beam in relation to interproximal contacts and rotated or misaligned teeth.
Adapt radiographic techniques for clients with unique anatomical or comfort considerations.
Apply practical, time-saving routines when completing a full-mouth series.
Improve client comfort while maintaining diagnostic image quality.
