Course Description:

Are you aware that even "healthy" mouths can suffer from halitosis? Periodontal disease and halitosis are caused by the same bacteria. During this seminar, you will learn new insights into what you need to assess to help treat your client with halitosis. There is a lack of understanding by our profession about the physiological and social impact of oral malodour. Discover the reasons why doctors, dental hygienists, and dentists are unable to help these clients. Our discussion will cover why brushing your teeth, flossing, seeing a dentist, and using mints, gums, and mouthwash aren't enough to keep bad breath away. We will examine the risk Volatile Sulphur Compounds (VSC) pose to our clients' systemic health.

Dr. Jim and Kerry will discuss the role Tonsillitis plays in oral malodour as well as treatment options for your clients. At the end of this seminar, you will understand the real causes of halitosis rather than the myths you learned in school.
