QA with Confidence: A Supportive Walk-Through of the CDHO QA Program

CE Hours: 3

Online Date:

Friday, February 5th, 2027 - 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM EST

Course Description:

Quality Assurance is a cornerstone of professional practice, focused on ensuring that quality standards are consistently met and that dental hygienists are prepared to demonstrate their ongoing competence with confidence.

Quality Assurance requirements exist across many professions to support accountability, consistency, and excellence in practice. For dental hygienists, these requirements are not meant to be overwhelming — when understood and approached intentionally, they can become a meaningful framework for professional growth.

This course is designed for dental hygienists seeking clarity and confidence in navigating the CDHO Quality Assurance Program, including the Quality Assurance Records requirements. Whether you are preparing for a potential audit or simply want to ensure your records are current and well organized, this session will help you feel informed, supported, and audit-ready.

Join Kathleen for a supportive and practical walk-through of the QA Program. With over 17 years of experience and having helped thousands of dental hygienists successfully complete their Quality Assurance submissions, Kathleen brings a reassuring, real-world approach to understanding what is required — and how to meet those requirements with ease.

Through an interactive presentation style, participants will explore the essential components of Quality Assurance record-keeping, including documentation of continuing education in the Smile Portal, selection of professional development activities, and effective reporting on learning outcomes.

The four Quality Assurance path options will be reviewed, providing clarity on the different pathways available when selected for audit. Participants will also take part in a guided reflection exercise designed to help identify which Quality Assurance pathway best aligns with how they prefer to demonstrate their professional learning, growth, and record-keeping.

The Practice Profile will be reviewed at a high level, allowing participants to understand its purpose and how it fits within the broader QA framework (a more in-depth exploration is available in a separate dedicated course).

Participants will leave this session with renewed confidence, practical strategies, and helpful resources to support regulatory compliance while showcasing their professional excellence.

It doesn’t have to feel daunting. Join us and #BeAuditReady.
